Being promoted to a supervisor position was my proudest professional accomplishment. An area coordinator who believed in me saw my potential and became my mentor. We met monthly to focus on my professional development. I am surrounded by a management team who has always encouraged me to continue growing and am now a year away from obtaining my bachelor’s degree.”

Kaiser is family to me. I love the everyday work culture and the atmosphere. We are given room to fail, learn, grow, and shine. Regardless of your role and title, you are given tools to succeed and to think of your own solutions. I value that space to think creatively.”

It makes me happy to overhear a team member I have been training talk with their peers about the topic, or when they answer a question with information I gave them during training. I love teaching others something new and beneficial to their job.”

I like being a Die Repairman and the outcome of my job. I enjoy educating my co-workers on how to repair a die and the role it plays in producing quality metal.”

My proudest professional accomplishment at Kaiser was graduating from the Women’s Leadership Program. The program allowed me to meet awesome people from different Kaiser facilities and build friendships with people throughout the organization. Through the program, I learned my management style and techniques on how to hone and improve my management skills. I use the skills I learned through this program every day.”

I value the teamwork at Kaiser Aluminum. Each person has a specific job but works as part of a team that looks out for each other, which allows for production to happen.”

I am proud of the friendships I have made at Kaiser. These friendships have helped me understand how different individuals work, think, and are motivated. Learning these traits helped me be promoted from the shop floor to a managerial role.”

We go through extensive training. At times it seemed excessive, but after completing the training, I had the confidence to do my job correctly. This experience helps me support new hires when they join the team. Since everyone has been through the training, we make sure to do all we can to help new hires. This place treats everyone the same, top to bottom.”

My position allows me to interact with a variety of people inside and outside of the company. You create bonds with people from all backgrounds and they become friends and family, not just co-workers. You know that you matter. You don’t find that in every workplace.”

Since coming to Kaiser, I have learned that to be part of a team means everyone shares the same accountability. The best way to ensure success is to make sure everyone on the team develops into the best technician they can be. I have realized that I get a great deal of satisfaction from training others and helping them be successful.”

My proudest professional accomplishment at Kaiser is the opportunity I received to move from a maintenance role to an engineering role. I achieved this by going back to school full time while effectively performing in my role within the maintenance department. I value the ability to make things better through ideas and new technology and am happy I get to work with a group that is knowledgeable and open to each other’s ideas.”
